Bride and Groom share a kiss at beautiful fall wedding

Sheyanne and Billy’s Rustic Outdoor Wedding at Spiegel Grove in Fremont, Ohio

September 14, 2019

A chance introduction by family has led to a special love story. Who would have thought that years ago when Sheyanne went along with her sister and now brother-in-law to a demolition derby that she would meet the guy who would later become her husband? It doesn’t hurt that those two guys have remained the closest of buddies, and now can call each other family, too!

On their wedding day, Sheyanne chose to get ready at the home of her grandparents so they could share in the joy of the day. Before traveling to the ceremony, she and several other family members stood in front of the ever-so-special kitchen cabinet door to record their height, as they had done for decades before.

The wedding venue was Spiegel Grove, home of former U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes, in Fremont, Ohio. On the grounds is where the First Look took place between the bride and her father. She quickly was tucked away so that the groom and other members of the family could finish setting up for the outdoor ceremony in the serene “Tunnel of Love”. Although the bride and groom chose not to have a First Look between the two of them, they did wish to share in a quiet moment while holding hands around a corner without seeing one another.

Most certainly, Sheyanne and Billy’s wedding marked the joining of two families, and their children were all at their side to stand up for them. They also all participated in a very touching sand unity ritual during the ceremony. After some lovely family photos, the couple met their guests at the reception venue by means of a vintage Cadillac station wagon from the 1970’s. It’s a beauty. Check it out in the photos below!  🙂

Tilly’s Banquet Room in Tiffin, Ohio was the perfect venue for the couple who sought an indoor-outdoor space for their reception. My jaw dropped while approaching the lovely all-white wraparound front porch … and naturally it was a lovely spot for some portraits. After dinner in the newly-built barn, guests were invited to join the couple on the unique outdoor checkered dance floor where the couple shared in their first dance. You might notice a plus-one on the dance floor with them (their adorable nephew who was probably more excited about his role in the wedding as anyone!).

What a lovely day you had to celebrate the joining of your lives, Sheyanne and Billy! Wishing you many continued smiles and much love.
