Their story begins long before high school, when Jake was close friends with Jessie’s brother and their families became intertwined. Jessie had known Jake and his family for as long as she could remember. But it wasn’t until high school that their story turned into something more. What started as a familiar friendship grew into a lasting love, built on shared history and the simple joy of being together.

Jake proposed on the beach at Marco Island, Florida – a place that had long been meaningful to him and his family, and one the couple had continued to visit together throughout their relationship. Being on the water was a fitting beginning to their future plans, as their wedding was held in the beautiful lakefront community of Catawba Island, Ohio.

On their wedding day, Jake and Jessie chose a quiet, intentional moment before the ceremony to exchange personal vows privately, standing close without seeing one another. It was intimate, emotional, and grounding before they stepped into their ceremony in the venue’s historic wine cellar for their summer wedding at Gideon Owen Wine Company.

Jessie was stunning in a fitted gown paired with a cathedral-length veil that floated behind her. Her bouquet, designed by Sweet Pea Flower Truck, was vibrant and full of life … perfectly capturing the energy of summer and complementing the manicured grounds surrounding the venue.

The reception held a few surprises. During the toasts, the groom’s family shared an audio recording of well wishes by none other than the famous actor, Matthew McConaughey – someone the groom admires. In another surprise, after the traditional dances, Jessie shared a special dance with Jake’s father, a gesture that brought smiles to the faces of all the guests.
