Lake Erie Beach Wedding in Port Clinton, Ohio

Haley and Shane TIED THE KNOT! The Lake Erie shore provided a lovely backdrop for their beach wedding in Port Clinton, Ohio. Their Lake Erie wedding on Camp Perry Beach had been long awaited, and it was a day to remember!

It all started a few years ago. The couple was introduced to one another by mutual friends. They came to realize that they enjoy many of the same things … including boating, fishing, and having cookouts with their friends and family. It was clear that they were meant for one another, and Shane made a plan to make things official. He enlisted Haley’s sister to photograph them at nearby Maumee Bay State Park, and he proposed with it all captured in photos!

More than two years have passed since I first met with Haley and her mom to discuss her wedding vision. I vividly remember her describing where they got engaged (at the same location my husband and I did) and where they were having their wedding reception (at the same location my husband and I did!). ☺️ When I saw them interact together at their engagement session, I could tell that they were a fun couple. I was really looking forward to getting to know them better and documenting their wedding day in Port Clinton, Ohio!

Then, the wedding had to be postponed due to the pandemic.

Haley and Shane made the decision to wait to say “I do” until the next year. By the time their wedding day finally came around … they were READY!

Their wedding style was bright and cheerful … much like the couple’s personalities. 💛 The bridesmaids wore aqua dresses, and the bride and bridesmaids carried bouquets of silk flowers made with love by the groom’s mama in vibrant shades of pink, purple, orange, and yellow.

*** Touching moment alert *** The couple invited the groom’s grandfather to officiate their Lake Erie beach wedding ceremony! 😭 This added such a special, personal touch to their day, and I loved capturing the moments between Shane and his grandpa.

After family photos on the beach, we took the bridal party of TWENTY-ONE (plus a “best dog”) to get some fun portraits! Then it was time to start the party at the Clubhouse on the grounds of the Ohio Army National Guard base overlooking the beautiful Lake Erie Shore in Port Clinton, Ohio. We finished the day with sunset photos on the beach, of course!
