A fall wedding at Gideon Owen is always something special, but this beautiful celebration on Catawba Island felt especially memorable. Nestled near the shores of Lake Erie, the venue offered the perfect backdrop for a day filled with meaningful moments, family traditions, and plenty of celebration.
Earlier in the day, the bridal party fully embraced the excitement of the celebration, laughing together and creating fun videos before the bride walked down the aisle. Their energy set the tone for a joyful day from start to finish!
The couple chose to exchange private vows before their ceremony, creating an intimate moment together before standing in front of their closest family and friends. Away from the excitement of the day, they shared heartfelt promises that reflected their journey together and the future they are building side by side.
One of the sweetest surprises of the day came when the groom gifted his bride a beautiful keepsake trunk from Petite Keep. Designed to preserve and protect her wedding gown for years to come, it was a thoughtful gift that honored not only their wedding day but the memories they will cherish for a lifetime.
The ceremony took place inside Gideon Owen’s historic wine cellar, where the couple’s future brother-in-law officiated. The intimate setting was nostalgic and elegant, highlighted by two all-white, asymmetrical floral arches.
Although the vineyard’s grape harvest had already concluded, the property still glowed with rich autumn color. The warm fall tones were exactly what the couple envisioned … creating a beautiful seasonal setting and making for GORGEOUS, glowing sunset photos. Combined with ideal weather conditions, guests were able to comfortably enjoy every part of the venue and its surrounding beauty near Lake Erie.
As the evening continued, guests gathered for a reception filled with music by Mixing with Elo with DJ Ed Lopez who had been part of the couple’s story for years while they were dating. Once the lights dimmed and the dance floor opened, light sticks filled the room, guests packed the dance floor, and the energy became absolutely electric! It was the perfect ending to a beautiful fall wedding at Gideon Owen, one of Northwest Ohio’s most unique and historic venues.
